Live Local Every Friday Again This Summer!
It’s that time of year when specialty crop fresh fruits and vegetables will be popping up soon and delivered to market, and check out what we have planned!
The E. Center St. Farmers’ Market is scheduled to begin on Friday June 2nd and will run each Friday evening from 4:00-8:00 PM through the end of September.
The market will be held on East Center Street between the intersection of South Maine Street and South Nevada Street. This is a central location in our historic downtown area, with the Fallon Food Hub at its core. Plenty of parking is available in the area and many other downtown businesses within walking distance will be open during the market.
A grant from the Nevada Department of Agriculture Specialty Crop Grant Program for the 2016 and 2017 market seasons is making the E. Center St. Farmers’ Market possible for its second season.
In addition to the vendor stations, a tasting and information station is also planned where the market attendees may learn about the local specialty crops, their related health benefits and how to enjoy them.
A free raffle ticket will also be given out to each market attendee for a chance to win a specialty crop basket of the week.
Special activities will be held during the E. Center St. Farmers’ Market over the course of the season that will include blood drives, car shows and live music and entertainment.
Outdoor stations at the market will be assigned to local farmers, artisans, crafters, cottage food and other licensed vendors on a first-paid-first-reserved basis. Registration fees are set based on vendor type.
All participating vendors must agree to comply with the E. Center St. Farmers’ Market rules, terms and conditions. Copies of all market documents can be found here below.
